Microsoft’s 365 Subscription Changes Are Not Family Friendly
A deeper look into changes for Microsoft 365 subscriptions in January 2025.
I’m normally a fan of Microsoft’s software and services, but they’ve recently been making changes that are going to alienate many loyal customers.
We could discuss the ridiculous situation where Microsoft have applied an artificial requirement on Windows 11 needing a TPM 2.0 security chip, thus preventing millions of current Windows 10 users from upgrading their existing PC or laptop. Instead of removing this unnecessary limitation, Microsoft are telling consumers to go buy a new computer before they terminate support for Windows 10 in October 2025.
I could also go into the disastrous release of the Windows 11 24H2 update that has been plagued with an incredible number of ongoing known issues since it was originally released back in October 2024. I’ve avoided that update so far, but now Microsoft are forcing this on users starting January 2025.
You can temporarily delay the forced Windows 11 24H2 update by pausing Windows Update from within its settings.
